San Rafael CA- On June 18, 2017 at approximately 10:50am, SRPD was contacted by a female who reported she had been attacked by a male suspect on the path behind Pickleweed Park and again on the path near Target. 

On August 3, 2017, a composite drawing was created with the victim. The sketch and photographs taken by a witness were released to the community and SRPD Detectives asked for the assistance in identifying the suspect.

During the week of September 24, 2017 SRPD received leads regarding the possible identity of the person who might be responsible for the attack. Detective Corporal Michael Mathis followed up on the leads and discovered that the named person looked similar to the sketch.  Further investigation led to a positive ID of the suspect and probable cause for his arrest. The suspect, a 15-year old male who lives in neighborhood nearby the assaults, was arrested and booked for sexual battery. No further details will be provided regarding the suspect or the arrest location due to his age.
