DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.

If you take prescription drugs, particularly those with a driving or operating machinery warning on the label, you might be impaired enough to get a DUI.

Marijuana can also be impairing, especially in combination with alcohol or other drugs, and can result in a DUI.

Sacramento Man Arrested for Pimping

On Thursday January 4, 2018, at approximately 8:14 p.m. Officers from the San Rafael Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit contacted an eighteen-year-old female near a closed business on Francisco Boulevard East. The woman eventually told officers that she was brought to San Rafael by a man she met recently, to work as a prostitute.

The officers initiated an investigation to determine whether the woman was a victim of human trafficking. They located the suspect in a vehicle parked in a near-by motel parking lot. Based upon interviews and evidence gathered during the investigation, officers arrested Laroyce Almartez Chew, 24 of Sacramento for Pimping and Pandering. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

The victim was provided with resources and transported to a place of safety.
