San Rafael Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision

San Rafael, CA – March 8, 2025 – The San Rafael Police Department (SRPD) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred late Friday night in the area of Redwood Highway and Marin Center Drive.

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 10:36 PM, SRPD officers responded to reports of a person lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with severe injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until the San Rafael Fire Department (SRFD) arrived on scene. Despite their best efforts, the victim, a 46-year-old male from Greenbrae, was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the victim’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

At this time, investigators have limited details regarding the incident. SRPD’s Major Accident Investigations Team (MAIT) as well as the department detectives are actively investigating the collision.

SRPD is urging anyone who was traveling in the area near Redwood Highway and Marin Center Drive around the time of the incident and may have seen something suspicious to come forward. Even small details, such as a vehicle driving erratically or evidence of a damaged vehicle, could be crucial to the investigation.
