San Rafael Man Arrested for Vandalism Spree
San Rafael, Ca- On Tuesday, July 31, 2018, the San Rafael Police Department began receiving reports of vandalism throughout the city. The suspect used spray paint to tag businesses from the Miracle Mile to Loch Lomond. So far, nine separate victims have been identified, with damages exceeding $6,500.
Officers from the San Rafael Police Department Special Operations Unit canvassed the area in an effort to locate surveillance footage near victim businesses. The officers located videos which captured the suspect committing the vandalism, as well as an associated vehicle. They used the vehicle license plate to identify the registered owner and locate the suspect. Timothy Goetze, 20 years-old and a San Rafael resident, was positively identified as the suspect. Goetze was arrested for 594(A)(1)P.C. - Vandalism exceeding $400.00 and was booked at the Marin County Jail.
