Victim Stabbed in Robbery Attempt
San Rafael, CA – On March 12, 2019 at 8:46 pm the San Rafael Police Department (SRPD) received a 911 call for a welfare check on a person in the 400 block of Bahia Way, San Rafael.
SRPD Officers responded to the area and located the victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds. The San Rafael Fire Department arrived and began treating the victim for his injuries and transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
The victim told SRPD officers that he had been walking in the area and was confronted by the suspect, a Hispanic male. He said that the suspect attempted to grab a piece of jewelry from him and when he resisted, he was stabbed multiple times. There was a second subject with the suspect and after the stabbing, they fled the area together.
SRPD Officers checked the surrounding area and were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect was described as:
Hispanic male adult, possibly mid 20’s, about 5’6”, medium to heavy build, wearing a plain white shirt sleeve shirt with light colored jeans.
The subject who was with the suspect was a Hispanic male adult, possibly mid 20’s, about 5’5”, weighing about 180 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
