Two Suspects Arrested in Early Morning Fight and Stabbing

San Rafael, CA – On 04/25/2022, Carlos Gonzales-Davila, a 19-year-old San Rafael resident, and Santos Gonzalez-Herrera, a 21-year-old San Rafael resident, were arrested within minutes of SRPD arriving to a reported fight and stabbing.  The victim was taken to a local area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

In the early morning hours, just before 1:45 AM, San Rafael Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a fight was in progress in the area of Medway Road and Canal Street.  The first officer arrived on the scene within one minute of the call. 

As the officer approached, they observed a stabbed victim lying on the ground.  The officer, concerned for the victim, immediately began providing first aid.  The officer was shown a video of the fight and stabbing and radioed the description of the two suspects. 

Additional SRPD Officers responding to the scene located the suspects a short distance away.  The suspects were positively identified as being involved and were arrested.  SRPD Officers also located the knife used to stab the victim. 

The suspects were booked into the Marin County Jail for felony assault with a knife and felony conspiracy to commit a crime.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital and is expected to make a recovery.

The case will be forwarded to the Marin County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
