San Francisco Police Department Serves Search Warrant on Canal Street
Today, August 6th, 2026, at approximately 12:45 pm, the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) served a warrant in the 200 block of Canal Street in San Rafael. The San Rafael Police Department assisted by providing Spanish-language interpretation and deploying a drone to provide overhead security during the operation.
During the service of the warrant, SFPD officers used a diversionary device designed to produce a loud noise and briefly divert the attention of the wanted suspect as they took him into custody.
This operation was coordinated and led by SFPD as part of a criminal investigation. No federal agencies, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), were involved. As a reminder to our community, the San Rafael Police Department does not assist or cooperate with ICE in any immigration enforcement.
Questions regarding the investigation or circumstances surrounding the arrest should be directed to the San Francisco Police Department. sfpdmediarelations@sfgov.org
