Sex Registrant Arrested for Stalking

San Rafael, CA – On Wednesday, 03/20/2025, Darrien James Humphries, a 25-year-old Vacaville resident, was arrested after he stalked and made lewd sexual comments to a female victim who was walking to work.  Humphries was also determined to be a sex registrant.  He was booked into the Marin County Jail on several charges.  The victim was not physically injured.

Just before 10:30 AM, SRPD received a 9-1-1 text from an adult victim who reported that she was being followed and intimidated by a male suspect on Professional Center Parkway near Redwood Highway.

SRPD Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived within minutes.  Upon the first officer's arrival, it was observed that the male suspect, Humphries, and the victim had momentarily walked onto the property of a private school.  Humphries stood in the victim’s path, preventing her from passing by.  Humphries was detained, and the victim was moved to safety.

During the investigation, it was learned that Humphries approached the victim and made lewd and sexual comments.  The victim tried to get away from him, but he persisted and followed her.  Humphries also blocked the victim’s path and tried to keep her from getting away.  Fortunately, the victim was not physically assaulted.  The victim had never met Humphries before and did not know him.

Officers also learned that Humphries was a sex registrant with the most recent registration out of Suisun City and on active Post Release Community Supervision out of Santa Clara County.

Humphries was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail on felony false imprisonment, felony stalking, and a sex registrant being on school grounds.  The victim was not physically injured in this case and was provided with victim resources.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call San Rafael Police at (415) 485-3000. Tips can also be made online at http://www.srpd.org/tips.
