Suspect Arrested for Sexual Battery at Terra Linda High

On 12/18/2019 at about 7:30am, the San Rafael Police dispatch center received a call from Terra Linda High School about an unwanted person on campus.  The subject, who was obviously not a student, was walking around campus and talking to students.  He subsequently followed a student into a hallway at the school.  The student notified a teacher and the teacher escorted the subject to the administration office

The doors to school classrooms were locked as a precaution to prevent the subject from having any other additional access to the school.  Another school official was called to the office and he escorted the subject off campus.  Shortly after he left, a person reported that they were inappropriately touched by the subject.  After it was confirmed that the subject was no longer on campus the doors to the classrooms were unlocked.

SRPD units responded to school and learned that there were possibly additional victims who were inappropriately touched by the subject.  SRPD Detectives responded to assist the patrol division with the investigation.  School officials provided SRPD with a thorough description of the suspect.  Based on that description, an SRPD Officer recognized the subject as Willie Jones.

Willie Jones, a 39 year old male from San Rafael was located at about 8:15am in the area of the 1200 block of Lincoln Avenue, San Rafael.  Through interviews, it appears that there may be two victims, one minor and one adult.

The subject was brought back to SRPD for an interview and the investigation is ongoing.
