Downtown Shooting Suspect Arrested While in Jail
San Rafael, CA – On Friday, 3/21/2025, San Rafael Police Detectives arrested Haadi Bolourchi, a 33-year-old San Rafael resident, for shooting a male victim. When he was arrested, Bolourchi was in-custody at the Marin County Jail for an unrelated offense. Detectives identified Bolourchi as committing the shooting in Downtown San Rafael on 2/27/2025. One victim was wounded in the hand when the shooting occurred.
The case started on Thursday, 2/27/2025, when, just before 9 PM, SRPD began receiving 9-1-1 calls about a shooting that took place in a parking lot near the intersection of B Street and First Street in San Rafael’s Downtown. Several callers stated they had heard several gunshots being fired.
Officers arrived in less than two minutes, provided first aid, and began investigating. One male victim was found with a gunshot wound to the hand. The victim was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Officers also conducted an extensive search and canvass of the surrounding area for a possible suspect, but no one was immediately located.
SRPD Detectives were assigned to the investigation and began developing leads as to what happened and who committed the shooting. Detectives combed through surveillance video gathered from the surrounding area, which led to the identification of the shooter as Haadi Bolourchi. It was learned that Bolourchi had walked to the scene, hid near a corner of a fence line, and then fired multiple shots at a group of people standing in front of a business, striking the one victim. Only one of the multiple gunshots struck the victim.
Once Bolourchi was identified, SRPD Detectives learned that he was booked into the Marin County Jail on 3/14/2025 for an unrelated charge of violating the term of his probation that was connected to a 2019 gun charge and court order violation.
On 3/21/2025, SRPD Detectives went to the Marin County Jail and arrested Bolourch for attempted murder. Detectives also requested a bail enhancement, which a Marin Superior Court Judge granted. Bolourchi is currently being held in jail without the possibility of being able to post bail.
The reason for the shooting and the connection between the suspect and victim are still under investigation.
SRPD wishes to express gratitude to our community for their assistance, which eventually led to the identification of Bolourchi.
