San Rafael High School Teacher Arrested for Misconduct with Minor

San Rafael, CA – On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, San Rafael Police Department Detectives arrested Kevin Eric Allen, a 35-year-old San Rafael resident and San Rafael High School teacher, in connection with an illegal and inappropriate relationship with a minor under the age of 18. Allen has been suspended from employment with San Rafael High School since the incident was reported.

On April 14, 2026, SRPD was notified by San Rafael High School administration that they had learned of a possible illegal and inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a minor. The teacher was identified as Allen. School administrators immediately took action, suspended Allen from work, and began a parallel internal investigation in cooperation with SRPD.

SRPD Detectives conducted a thorough investigation into the allegations. Detectives obtained statements from the victim and witnesses and executed search warrants to review communications between Allen and the minor. Based on the facts and evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives determined that an illegal and inappropriate relationship had occurred.

SRPD Detectives arrested Allen at his residence in San Rafael. Allen was booked into the Marin County Jail on charges related to arranging to meet a minor for sexual intent, annoying or molesting a minor under the age of 18, and violating the terms of his Marin County probation.

The San Rafael Police Department takes allegations involving the safety and well-being of students extremely seriously. Cases involving the exploitation or abuse of minors are investigated with urgency, care, and a commitment to protecting victims. SRPD will continue working closely with San Rafael City Schools and our school community partners to help maintain safe learning environments for all students.

Due to the minor’s age, no identifying information is being released. Additional assistance and resources are being made available to the victim and their family.
